My therapeutic style is warm, accepting, and comfortable. I hope that in our time together, you will feel that your self-determination is valued, that you are you being heard and understood, and that our therapeutic time together creates a safe space for you to embrace your strengths and use them to create positive change in your life.

With a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a second Master’s degree in Education from Mercy College, I have vast experience working with children and young adults on educational struggles, social/emotional challenges, and special educational needs. Using play therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, I connect with young people at their level and provide an open space for them to share their feelings, feel supported, and create solutions to improve their well-being.

I am also skilled in working with adults and tend to Motivational Interviewing and other Solution-focused therapy strategies to help clients utilize their own strengths and experiences to reach their personal goals. I have studied a great deal about trauma and approach all my clients from a trauma-informed lens meaning I will be beside you in working through any past or present trauma in the way that you prefer. Our work together will be at your pace and focused on what is most important to you.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my three children, participating in book discussion groups, and traveling. I am a fluent Swahili speaker and enjoy volunteering and engaging in social justice movements.

I look forward to finding solutions together and creating space for positive growth and change. We will celebrate all our successes together, no matter how small, because life is a journey and change is a process.
